Dark Red Tree Peony

Dark red tree peonies (Paeonia suffruticosa) are long-lived, woody shrubs (3–7 ft) producing massive, fragrant, ruby-red, or deep maroon blossoms with gold centers in late May to June. They prefer full sun to partial shade, well-drained, fertile soil, and are deer/rabbit resistant. Unlike herbaceous types, they do not die back in winter and require minimal pruning.
